The yellowish brown root of the plant is harvested in fall and is a well-known Chinese medicine used over thousands of years. Radix Angelica Sinensis is applied in TCM for tonifying blood, activating blood, alleviating pain, regulating menstruation, and moistening intestines.
Z -Ligustilide is a major component of Radix Angelica Sinensis and reported to have anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive effects.
